
The Great Kingdom of Dhassa is an ancient one, with its history going back over a thousand years. In the past it was blessed by a cabal of powerful beings, enabling it to grow and remain rich and stable for generations. Dhassa is also well known for its extensive copper and iron deposits. The main religion of the country was once quite repressive, especially over social norms, but the church has loosened its hold over the population over the last hundred years or so, enabling the ability to increase ones' social status more easily. Sadly, the kingdom is ruled by an aging decadent king and his corrupt noble court. Their is no ethnic majority in Dhassa, equal numbers of humans, elves, dwarves, and gnomes make up the country's' population, which has give it somewhat of a "mongrel" reputation compared to its other neighbors.

Currently there are two types of nobles: new and old. The old nobility are those persons coming from families that have long been noble and have not necessarily done anything to earn their positions. The new nobility are those persons who have been granted noble standing by a grateful King/Queen. Old nobles tend to be "old money", families that have investments in chiefly in land or property. The new nobles tend to be the "crass" merchant classes, which the old nobles so seriously despise.
Dhassa has some very unique ground troops, called "grasshoppers". These troops number about 800 and they use giant genetically bred "rabbits" are mounts that can "hop" all over the battlefield instead, bringing Dhassan troops a certain level of "shock" attack that is unseen elsewhere on the battlefield. These grasshopper troopers train constantly to hone their skills, jumping en masse behind pretend enemies in the field and launching attacks from the rear.
