THE LANCE PATTERN
The Lance Pattern is a region of space that is a former warzone, with dozens of bombed out worlds to prove it. Located between the Hert Federation and the Virh Federation, this entire zone was badly damaged by the Final War, a deadly conflict between the Faber and Nimian races. Both of these ultra-tech races were wiped out in the conflict and dozens of worlds within the Lance Pattern were ultimately scorched of life.

Several important planets are also located in this sector, including the high-population world of Lycos, the ecclesiastical world of Majipoor, and the Pike System, which holds the Anvil Galaxys' most stable wormhole nexus. This nexus draws enormous traffic through the Lance Pattern, making it a critical crossroads for many races.

Neither the Hert nor the Virh have much interest in the Lance Pattern; in reality both are grateful for this buffer zone between these two competitive states. However the Tolats and Halvesh are currently working to restore the ecospheres' of these devastated war worlds, a process that could take generations.

EUFORIX SPACE HABITAT
Located in the Lance Pattern, this orbital construct was built by the Halvesh as part of the Lycosian expansion project. Nearly thirty million people live on this high-tech station. It is a center of trade and commerce in the Tarabay System, focusing as a cross-roads of trade in the region. Euforix is governed by a democratically elected council since its initial colonization, 100 years ago. It is a luxury habitat, drawing the wealthy from dozens of nearby worlds to its casinos and other exotic entertainments. However, slavery is forbidden on Eurforix.

The Faber are....




 
HORUS THE LIFE-GIVER
This exiled Egyptian god lives on one of the blasted worlds of the Lance Pattern: the planet Scibetta. He has been banished here by his pantheon for some unknown reason and he's been here for decades now. The mystical powers that emanate from this god are slowly turning the planet from a scorched nuclear waste land into a garden of eden, although it will take time to complete the process, most likely several hundred years. Horus has had no physical visitors and he walks all over the world constantly, seeking something (he knows not what). Most of his god powers have been blocked, hindering him from creating worshippers and keeping his PPE power very limited. Until he can regain significant PPE, he is marooned on this distant, desolate world.




 




 




 
LUREN
A long time ago, this vampiric alien race controlled a vast interstellar empire, until one of the elder races moved against them, turning their fleets into solar ash and instantly destroying all their arms and armies. Since that time they have been hunted to near extinction, but they have one remaining small colony in the Lance Pattern, on the planet Sipos. Luckily for the Luren, their saliva has healing properties that enable them to cure almost any disease. In exchange, all they require is a small payment in blood, preferably humanoid blood.





 
MAJIPOOR: MEGAPLANET
This jumbo-sized world is home to the ePope, head of one of the largest religions in the Three Galaxies, the Maronite faith. A huge organization of politically active religionists, the Maronites have followers in the trillions, all receiving direction by the ePope on Majipoor. Located in the Lance Pattern, this planet was subjected to brutal bombardment during the Final War, a galaxy-wrecking conflict fought between the Nimians and the Faberians. Today it has recovered from the war and remains the destination of spiritual seekers of the Maronite faith.






 




 
NIMIANS
The Nimians....




 
PIKE SYSTEM
This star system has enormous clout within the Anvil Galaxy, and almost none outside of it. The Pike System is the location of a stable wormhole nexus, one of only four known in the Three Galaxies. Control over this transit system allows Pike to generate huge revenues as ships of all types pass through it. Travelling through the wormhole is instantaneous and any ship using it can shave weeks or even months off a interstellar journey. Since the nexus creates enormous wealth, the political leaders of Pike guards it with a significant warfleet, active satellite defenses, and large orbital military bases that can directly control who can use the wormholes. Pike itself is terraforming two other worlds within the system, Spear and Lance, and both projects are expected to be finished within the next hundred years or so. It is a very high-tech system, with a population of 5 billion people spread across all three planets.
